Wireless On US Airways flights

US Airways Group Inc. has launched Internet service on five of its aircraft and plans to expand it to all its Airbus A321 planes by June 1. Access will be free June 1 through 8. After that, the service in the mainland United States will cost $4.95 to $12.95. This will help expand the customer base because businessmen wont loose hours on their work. And Tech savy teens can still entertain themselves.

  1. This is really interesting. I think its a pretty good idea. It will definitely help attract business men and women. It's not too expensive but I feel that other airlines will start offering internet for free to help boost their ticket sales or possibly just raise ticket prices a little bit to cover the costs of supplying internet to passengers.

  2. I'm surprised it's taken this long to incorporate computers on planes. It would keep a lot of people occupied, or even productive.

  3. thats cool and exciting. i think this will be very effective in the business world. many businesses include business trips and this will help workers stay in the loop during there travels. I also believe this will help people stay in communication. Also kids will actually be able to stay calm during a flight and not bug the rest of the attendants.

  5. This seems like a really good idea for airways to have. By being able to go on to the internet during a flight it enables the passengers to be more productive with their time, and also gives them something to keep them busy. It sounds especially good for long flights. Overall the idea seems very good and hopefully all airlines will incorporate it.

  6. I believe having internet access is a great idea. It will help businesses stay on track of their company and also it is great for teens to entertain themselves on long flights. This will attract many people on airlines whether it is business related or what. I am not sure people will be eager to pay $4.95-$12.95 for a short flight of a few hours but it is always worth a shot.

  7. I definitely noticed that because the last time I flew on AA, and it wasn't that long ago, they didn't have TV screens installed on the seats. But recently, when I flew on AA, they had them installed and it was very entertaining and convenient. I enjoyed the experience during my flight and I would definitely pay for the service if I really had to, during a long flight. If the flight was short, I wouldn't waist my money on that. But that feature is awesome to have for people that are always flying on business trips. I'm sure they would all want to use that, for work and for pleasure.

  8. This is exciting and good news for people who have to sit on long flights. Having to fy from Philadelphia to Manchester twice a year, and many fights to singapore, i think this will be many peoples life-saver from boredem on looong. flights. If the flight was a short flight i wouldnt waste my money on internet, unless it was a few dollars.
